John F. Hill is an accomplished fine art photographer based in Easton, Connecticut. He was educated at Princeton University and has had a successful career as a business executive. John turned to fine art photography to realize his vision and passion for revealing the beauty of the world around him. Over the last few years he has earned numerous awards at the regional, national and international levels for his photography including multiple images accepted to the Loan Collection of the Professional Photographers Association of America, over ten best in show awards, two Kodak Gallery Awards, a Fuji Masterpiece Award, PPA 2007 Gold Photographer of the Year and many others.
The photographic image provides the viewer with the opportunity to evoke emotion and experience visual beauty in a lasting way. Some images lead the viewer to recall fond experiences, others provide for the ability to have a visual experience one may never see directly or which might just be missed and passed by in our rapidly moving lives. John’s vision as a photographer is to reveal this beauty and call forth emotion using the highest quality photographic technique. Ansel Adams is quoted as saying “the negative is the score and the print is the performance”. In this spirit, John controls every aspect of his photography from initial capture through the expert refinement and custom printing of his images. John places an emphasis on the effective use of color. He subtly uses color to enhance form and shape, stimulate emotion and establish harmony within an image. His images are beautiful works of art offered in limited and numbered editions.
John Hill personally hand crafts and custom prints every one of his fine art images to exacting standards using the highest quality materials available. All images are printed using state of the art printers using pigment inks on archival fine art papers. With proper care these prints will not begin to fade for 100-200 years. The prints are mounted and framed using only the highest quality archival materials and framing techniques.
Limited Edition photographs and unlimited numbered edition images area available in three size categories Premier - up to 20x24 framed, Gallery up to 32x40 framed, and Museum up to 40x60 framed. Custom sizes can be produced within a size category and will count toward the edition. For Limited Edition photographs the Premier and Gallery sizes are limited to an edition of 25 each and the Museum size is limited to an edition of 5.
